Abstract:
Wood is experiencing a renaissance as a structural engineering material for tall buildings, with increased interest being placed in the use of cross laminated timber worldwide. Recently in British Columbia, The Brock Commons Building of 18 storeys height was constructed in Vancouver. In this presentation, Marjan will inform the audience about the challenges and recent advancements in British Columbia and North America in relation to tall timber structures.
