Abstract

An interactive evening with Raed El Sarraf, who will discuss the latest changes to the NZ Building Code and how you can demonstrate compliance using SNZ TS 3404; and issuing (or not) of Producer Statements. He is also keen to hear your experiences with undertaking durability design using the current available guidance, and any concerns that you may have. Discussions and feedback from the evening will assist in refining current durability design guidance, as well as the potential development of other documents that may be required.

Biography

Raed El Sarraf is a Technical Principal- Materials and Corrosion at WSP Opus. He has co-authored a number of structural steel durability industry guidance in both New Zealand and Australia, as well as being on the SNZ TS3404 committee. Documents to date include; HERA’s NZ Steelwork and Corrosion Coatings Guide and NZTA’s Protective Coatings for Steel Bridges.
