Abstract

The presentation will show two examples where non-linear modelling of both the building and its interaction with the soil have been included in the assessment of the capacity of the buildings' lateral load resisting systems. The first example will address an EBF building with staggered levels continuously connected by ramps, and the second example will present the assessment of a moment resisting frame building originally designed to achieve a high ductility level.
